LUTECE PLAGE SHIRT
€250.00
The Lutèce Plage Shirt finds its origin in a singular archive: a U.S. Navy sailor’s jacket, hand-painted between 1910 and 1920, covered with portraits of the women he encountered during his voyages. From this intimate and visual testimony, we composed a shirt where Parisian monuments, feminine faces, Hawaiian flowers, and the Japanese Seigaiha motif come together in a vibrant fresco.
Printed in France on a fluid rayon twill, its relaxed cut and reimagined collar reinvent the spirit of the summer shirt, balancing Parisian elegance with a dream of escape.
Context
The Hawaiian shirt first appeared in the 1930s in Hawaii, born from the encounter of imported Asian textiles, local motifs inspired by flora and landscapes, and artisanal printing know-how. From their creation, these garments seduced both tourists and American servicemen, becoming tangible souvenirs as well as symbols of a collective travel imagination.
It is within this heritage of cross-cultural exchange and memory that our creation takes shape, transposing the tradition into a contemporary, Parisian interpretation.
